Benefits of an Avaya FedRAMP Authorized Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS)
The Avaya Aura platform is available as a FedRAMP Authorized solution through a partnership with collab9. Public sector agencies that choose to implement the secure solution will enjoy a number of benefits.
Describing the benefits of Avaya’s government cloud solution with collab9, Jerry Dotson, vice president of Avaya Government Solutions said: “FedRAMP authorization for Avaya’s UCaaS through our collab9 partnership offers the best of both worlds. Government agencies now have access to a variety of scalable enterprise-grade UC service capabilities from a trusted government IT leader, all on a fixed cost per user basis.”
Best-of-Breed Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS)
Collab9 takes a best-of-breed approach to providing a comprehensive suite of hosted unified communication applications. Agencies can run Avaya Aura from a secure cloud service on a subscription basis.
FedRAMP Authorization and Advanced Security Posture for Government Agencies
This solution directly addresses a primary concern for public sector cloud migration projects: security. For the first time, public sector agencies can take advantage of a FedRAMP authorized Avaya Aura platform for unified communications. In order to qualify for its FedRAMP Moderate Authority to Operate (ATO) for public sector cloud deployments, the collab9 platform was subject to 325 security controls, as defined in NIST special publication SP 800-53r4.
Reduced Budget Pressure
By migrating to a cloud-based platform hosted by collab9, agencies can upgrade to the latest communication technology while limiting the need for significant capital expenditure. Through migration to a hybrid environment of cloud and premises components, agencies often retain much of their existing equipment, while eliminating onerous maintenance contracts and leveraging the monthly, per-user subscription that allows them to scale as needed and avoid wasted spend.
Support for Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP)
Collab9 infrastructure incorporates multiple, dual-redundant data centers to support agency Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) as a contingency for disruptive events.
The Avaya Aura cloud-based UCaaS platform allows workers to securely connect, regardless of location, using desktop and mobile applications in conjunction with optional “plug and play” VoIP telephones. This enables reduced friction for collaboration between remote and geographically dispersed teams.
Latest Technology, Always Secure
With the collab9 platform, the latest upgrades and technology are always available, along with maintenance and support, so that users can focus on their core functions.
