Senior Pre-Sales Unified Communications Cloud Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

Senior Pre-Sales Engineering for cloud Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS)

  • Develop and deliver customer and partner facing presentations
  • Work directly with collab9 and partner sales resources to develop accurate quotes
  • Design, develop and document high level pre-sales design for the following UC cloud solution components:
    • SIP Trunks
    • Unified Communications call control platforms (Cisco, Avaya, Ribbon, Other)
    • VOIP Gateways (SIP, H.323, Megaco)
    • Session Border Controllers
    • Unified Communications Soft Clients and IP hardware endpoints
    • Video Conferencing, Audio Conferencing, Web Conferencing
    • Unified Messaging
    • Contact Center
  • Perform discovery of customer voice and data environments to support migration to a cloud solution
  • Provide partner training (face to face and/or remote sessions)
  • Establish relationships as a “trusted advisor” to senior partner and customer technical resources
  • Complete Statements of Work (SOW) to deliver to the collab9 engineering team for implementation
  • Provide written technical content for RFI/RFP/RFQ responses
  • Provide direction and information collab9 products and services to customers and partners
  • Provide technical design guidance on VOIP and related data requirements, including Quality of Service (QOS), CODEC selection and bandwidth requirements to partners and customers
  • Develop and maintain technical competency for all products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years pre-sales experience in unified communications or a technically comparable role.
  • 5+ years responding to RFP/RFQ/RFI requirements
  • 5+ years specifying and designing LAN/WAN requirements to support a Unified Communications Environment
  • 5+ years implementing or designing VOIP systems (station and trunk side)
  • 5+ years supporting Federal customers in a pre-sales environment 

Core Competencies

  • Understanding of security compliance standards, such as FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, HITECH, PCI
  • Functional knowledge of cloud service delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Working knowledge of the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) model
  • Understanding of network requirements for Unified Communications solutions
  • Practical application and understanding of the following network protocols and standards:
    • DHCP, DNS, NTP, CDP/LLDP, HTTP, HTTPS, BGP
    • RTP/SRTP, SIP, TLS, DSCP, TOS
    • ITU-T G.711, G.729, G.722, T.38
  • LAN/WAN bandwidth requirements for Unified Communications solutions in the LAN and WAN
  • Superior Writing Skills

    • Avaya Professional Design Specialist (APDS)
    • Avaya Certified Solutions Architect (ACSA)
    • Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
